Within a field lab, companies, knowledge institutions, and other regional organizations experiment with new solutions for societal problems. However, the innovations developed in this way often prove difficult to scale in practice. As a result, demonstrating their impact on societal value creation remains challenging. The Fieldlabs@Scale project aims to change this: the University of Twente, together with three partner universities, is researching the scaling up of mission-driven innovations within smart industry, healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure. We do this by unraveling the mechanisms behind scaling processes and sharing them through training programs.
